If that doesn t solve the problem try this trick.
Replaced hinge pin now screen door will not latch.
If a door binds open it grasp the knob and lift up to see if a hinge is loose.
Lift up the door and set it onto the hinges.
Level the door to make sure it will open and close correctly and again use the tip of your screwdriver to secure the hinge pins in place.
You have not replaced the hinge pins yet so the door will still need to be supported.
Turn them clockwise with a screwdriver until the heads are flush with the hinges.
First i hung the door with the hinges in one piece.
Remove the door from the frame tear out old the old frame and nail the new frame.
Driver door still pops open going down the road.
To raise the latch do this at the top hinge.
Now here is my trick get 2 longer bolts cut the heads off put one in the top door plate and one in the bottom door plate slide door onto the hinges use these cut off bolts to move and align the door hinge until you get it right.
Tighten the top hinge to make the latch hit higher on the strike plate or the bottom hinge to make it hit lower.
I also hang the door different this time.
The strike plate is recessesd the latch bolt does not align or the strike plate needs to be reset.
Replace the door frame if it is warped and the hinge adjustments don t make a difference.

Fortunately you do not have to buy a new latch for your screen door just adjust the seat or mortise of the latch plate to fix a faulty door latch.
There are three main reasons your door is rattling.
If one is loose remove two or more screws and try driving in longer screws.
Purchase a new door frame of the correct size.
To lower the latch do it at the bottom hinge.
Then i aligned the hinges and stuck the pins back from top to bottom and now it closes.
Reinstall the locking screws on the hinges.
On the latch side a door is cut at a slight bevel to make it easier to close.
The long screw will grab the wall framing and draw in the whole doorjamb slightly.
I can usually have the door back on and aligned in about 15 minutes.

What i did now was attach the hinges lose from each other without the pin.
If a strike plate is recessed as often happens when the doorway is painted several times remove the screws pull it out and make cardboard shims to fit in the mortise.
Place the screws back inside the holes on top of the hinges.
