R32 Driver Door Handle Wont Open

So i think the other day that while i was unlocking my car doors i started pulling on the handle as i was unlocking the doors.

This video shows why your vw door will not open and what to do about it. If not then take the inside handle off and just pull the actual cable. If you need to get in just push in on the door a little and pull the handle at the same time. Could also be the outside handle.

Open the door pull the handle and see if the mechanism moves from outside and inside. I m thinking on the right track with the latch mechanism. Now the driver side door won t open from outside the car. Believe me i looked for days wh.

To be fair if its a cable problem then the handle from the inside outside will just flap around. When i go to open from the outside everything unlocks but the driver door won t open. This video is for when you can t open your door from either the inside or the outside not both if you can t open your door from both the inside and outside. It won t open no matter what i do less the key and inner handle. Hi i have a problem with my mk5 r32. Replace the door handle and problem solved or you can pull the door apart which you will have to do anyways and clean it. If the bolt moves but not enough to allow the door to open the.

If i lock then car using key fob and open the door the alarm goes off. The drivers door won t lock using the key fob but if i use the blade it will lock fine. I tested the switches in the handle it self. I tried taking the plastic piece off of handle and using the plastic key from the fob but it didnt work.

Though that is just a temp fix it will return at the most inopportune time. If nothing happens when you turn the knob it s usually because the set screw holding the knob to the rod has worked itself loose.
